T-Mobile’s Sales New Hire Orientation Program, a required 32-hour training for all sales employees from front line sales representatives to the vice presidents of each sales channel, is an ANGEL-based program. The SNHO Program is either a four- or eight-day online class. It meets as a group once a day in a virtual discussion via a web conference and an audio conference call. During the rest of the day, participants work at their own pace or as part of a team to complete the day's assignments. More than 12,000 employees completed this ANGEL-based program in 2004.
Learners think highly of the course, rating it nearly 4.5 out of 5 on a scale where five is "world class." The business results are also impressive - eight times more SNHO graduates hit their sales objectives at the 30-day mark than employees who did not participate in the program. Although the difference did decline over time, online trainees achieved their 90-day sales objectives two times more frequently than their counterparts who did not participate in the SNHO Program.
